Doctor Angelicus 02

It is not difficult to download the pages of Corpus Thomisticum. I did it. But to study the texts, one needs ... the texts and not the html files which are full of html tags. The simple way to get the pure text is "marking" the page with "Ctrl-A" (a standard function for standard personal computers) which performs a "copy", then "pasting" in an editor. I did it.

There are some exceptions. The main one is at the end of Summa Theologiae; the links under the header Fr. Rainaldus Romanus, Supplementum don't lead to html pages but to a scan output of the book. These pages can be downloaded but In order to get the text, it is necessary to have a good OCR (optical character recognition) program. The one installed on my PC gives very poor results. There are very good OCR that can be bought but they are expansive (200 or 300 euros); moreover, if your computer hangs, you cannot reinstall the OCR more than one or two times. It happened to me. Anyway, as the Corpus Thomisticus page warns, the concerned pages are not from Thomas but from Rainaldus Romanus.

Affable Calcaire.
