Doctor Angelicus 12

Presently, I concentrate my attention on the beginning of Thomas' commentaries on Matthew's Gospel. The text I work on is the "unit" with 2-letter code "HS" ; it is approximately 370 000 bytes long, which is longer than the global average (290 000). Variations of lengths are due to the trade off between having an average size and cutting texts at convenient places.

I perform a first lexical approach. The main tool I use is the  Wiktionary  which contains very complete tables of inflections of latin words. And when a word is ignored by Wiktionary (which is possible since it is not a commercial tool but is randomly fed by users) I add a search in the very classical and complete Gaffiot (latin to french) which can be found on line.

The latin language of Doctor Angelicus is not the classical latin of Cicero. And from time to time, neither Wiktionary, nor Gaffiot know the word I deal with. In that case, to be sure not to do a misinterpretation, I take help in existing translations if any. Fortunately the website

contains a (partial) translation of the text into english. The translator, R.F. Larcher, is a dominican and certainly the translation is of good accuracy.
